LIFE OASIS: Finding Peace and Purpose in a Chaotic World

It is like a spring of fresh water surrounded by a fertile region of vegetation, in a desert.

In a world that often feels like a never ending desert of responsibilities, stress, and uncertainties, the concept of a life oasis becomes essential. Just like an oasis provides water and rest for weary travelers in the desert, a life oasis is a personal space —physical, mental, or emotional —where one finds peace, renewal, and purpose.

What is a Life Oasis?

A life oasis is any place, habit, or mindset that nurtures your well-being. It could be:

A physical retreat like a quiet garden, a cozy reading corner, or a weekend getaway.

A mental escape through meditation, journaling, or creative activities.

A supportive community or relationship that uplifts and inspires you.

The key is that a life oasis isn't just about escaping reality but about refueling yourself so you can navigate life with clarity and strength.

Why You Need a Life Oasis

The modern world demands constant productivity, but without rest and self care, burnout is inevitable. Having a life oasis helps you:

Reduce stress and anxiety.

Reconnect with your true self.

Improve creativity and problems solving. Cultivate gratitude and mindfulness.

Think of it as a sanctuary where you pause, breathe, and realign with what truly matters.

How to Create Your Own Life Oasis

1. Identify What Refreshes You

What activities or environments make you feel at peace? It could be nature walks, painting, listening to music, or even deep conversations. Find what truly nourishes your soul.

2. Design Your Space

Whether it’s a corner of your room, a local café, or a nature spot, create a space that brings you comfort and joy. Keep it free from distractions and negativity.

3. Prioritize Time for Yourself

Just like you schedule work and responsibilities, set aside time for your life oasis. Whether it's 10 minutes a day or a weekend retreat, consistency matters.

4. Disconnect to Reconnect

Reduce digital distractions when you're in your oasis. Instead of scrolling through social media, immerse yourself in activities that foster peace and introspection.

5. Surround Yourself with Positivity

The people and energy around you influence your well-being. Choose relationships and content that uplift and inspire rather than drain you.

Final Thoughts

Life is a journey through unpredictable terrains, but having an oasis can make all the difference. It’s not about running away from reality but about creating a personal refuge that keeps you grounded. Your life oasis is your sanctuary cherish it, nurture it, and return to it whenever you need a moment of peace in the chaos of life.

So, where is your life oasis? If you don’t have one yet, now is the perfect time to create it.

Why Kissing Is Good For You

Kissing is not only a way to express your love and affection, but also a way to improve your health and wellbeing. Kissing can have many benefits for your physical and mental health, such as:

- **It boosts your happy hormones.** Kissing triggers your brain to release a cocktail of chemicals that make you feel good, such as oxytocin, dopamine, and serotonin¹. These hormones can enhance your mood, reduce stress, and increase bonding with your partner.

- **It lowers your blood pressure.** Kissing increases your heart rate and dilates your blood vessels, which helps lower your blood pressure². This can prevent or reduce the risk of cardiovascular problems, such as heart attacks and strokes.

- **It relieves pain.** Kissing can also act as a natural painkiller, by releasing endorphins that block pain signals. This can help ease headaches, cramps, and other types of discomfort.

- **It strengthens your immune system.** Kissing can expose you to different germs and bacteria, which can stimulate your immune system to produce antibodies. This can help you fight off infections and diseases more effectively.

- **It improves your oral health.** Kissing can also benefit your teeth and gums, by increasing saliva production and washing away plaque and bacteria. This can prevent cavities, gum disease, and bad breath.

As you can see, kissing is not only enjoyable, but also beneficial for your health. So don't hesitate to pucker up and smooch your partner, or even your friends and family. It's good for you!

The 'Weed Nuns' who devote their lives to cannabis

The 'sisters of the valley' as they are fondly called have all the belief and faith of every other nun but no connection to the Catholic church. Instead, their life long devotion is to cannabis. They spend their days growing it, smoking it and raising awareness about it's healing powers.

The nuns are not "sloppy smokers", according to their founder sister Kate, but "serious women with serious work to do". Their days are spent growing several medicinal strains on their California farm, which they sell in their online shop in form of various creams and tinctures. While they call themselves non-religious, they handle their weed with a sanctity that comes close: their growing process aligns with moon cycle, and the plants are harvested in what looks like formal ceremonies.

Photographer duo Shaugn and John spent some time with the nuns for the collection of the images above. "We hunted down their contact info and begged them to let is hang out with them", says Shaugn which spurred on "a several year relationship" and many more trips. "Sister Kate (their leader) is by far the most surprising part" added Shaugn who he calls a "perfect mix of hippy cult leader and megalomaniac CEO".

It could take some time before their belief system is adopted accross the pond, but to UK drug policy makers, sister Kate has one mesage: "we have many choices in oils to use as lubricants to help you get your head out of your ass".
